Bit of a sigh of relief here – Konami has announced that they are pushing back the release date of Silent Hill: Downpour into 2012, Beefjack confirms.It’s slipped back as far as Q2 of next year, too. That could be a good thing though; if previews were anything to go by the game still needed a lot of work despite nearing its original winter release. A specific date for this one is unknown but we’ll continue to hold our breath for signs of improvement.

Double Fine will go news crazy this week; invites sent out to media inform that the Tim Schafer-led studio has quite a few projects to unveil.“Amazing Double Fine Extravaganza” is what they’ve dressed the event up as, promising “six incredible products to behold” and “multiple exciting announcements” to boot, GI reports.The event will be held on October 14th. The long-standing rumor of Mass Effect 3‘s multiplayer component has been confirmed; it has one.Aussie mag PC Powerplay breaks the news on its website (cheers, Paul), leaving no room for interpretation: “That’s right – Mass Effect 3 is getting multiplayer!”“We travel to BioWare’s office in Edmonton for hands-on time with the series’ first foray into online gameplay, and chat with Mass Effect Series Producer and Mass Effect 3 Project Director Casey Hudson about the decision to go multiplayer in the epic battle for the galaxy.”The mag’s latest cover (here) also reads: “Fight alongside your friends as the galaxy goes to war!”This comes just after a South African retailer advertised the game’s “online multiplayer pass” and Xbox World 360 promising “a killer new feature” reveal in its next issue.The game’s been also rumored to have a co-op element to it. It was a pretty big announcement when CCP revealed their EVE Online-tied first-person shooter MMO, DUST 514, would in fact become a PlayStation 3 exclusive. Especially given the game is actively connected to the EVE Online PC-persistent universe. New details regarding the game have emerged through the PlayStation Blog, including just why the developer chose the PlayStation 3 as DUST's home, especially given it's an MMO. "Obviously, we were attracted to the power and the feature set of PlayStation 3, but it really came down to Sony’s willingness to work with us in bringing an MMO to the platform," said Brandon Laurino, Executive Producer at CCP on the blog.

MMO Culture has the game covered, and today's installment features a bit of commentary on the title's PvP-centric design as well as a brief look at weapon enhancement functionality.Age of Wulineschews the traditional +1 system of gear upgrading and instead opts for an interesting mechanic that basically boils down to meeting whatever requirements are described when you mouse over a weapon. The stated example involves reaching level 10 in a particular life skill as well as possessing certain inventory items. While we're a bit dubious about the fact that your cooking prowess may relate to your ability to wield a sword, we're also cognizant of the fact that it's an early Chinese beta build, so we're looking forward to seeing the system develop.

We know that Star Wars: The Old Republic is set to release in the United States and Europe on December 20th and 22nd respectively. Fans of Techland’s recently released zombie mauler Dead Islandwill finally be able to enter the Bloodbath Arena sometime in the near future. On Friday the following announcement was made on the game’s Facebook page:“We have news for all who are waiting for the Bloodbath Arena DLC: it will be moved to mid November. The additional time will be used to make sure that every Dead Island fan will receive the best experience possible on every platform.”A couple of weeks ago we learned that the downloadable content was being delayed so that Techland could work on the game some more.So far we know that the DLC will feature four new arenas to kill zombies in as well as a new tool called the “brain wave bomb” that will hopefully make it even more fun to do so.

The rumors are true. IGN reports that the former UFC and WWE champion will indeed be included in WWE '12, and the announce trailer can be seen below:

He'll be included on the roster with a 92 rating, and will be appearing in his current form. For those not terribly familiar with Brock, that basically just means he's gonna have a big scary sword tattooed on his chest. I'm fairly certain that either of his forms could beat me in a fight, however. At least a 75% chance.

ORIGINAL STORY:Brock Lesnar is one of UFC's biggest draws right now, despite his frequent absences due to health problems. While his stint in WWE made him famous, he hasn't had any affiliation with Vince McMahon's organization since leaving in 2004 (outside of an awkward encounter with The Undertaker in a UFC crowd almost a year ago). However, a new rumor suggests he may be making an appearance in the upcoming WWE '12.PWTorch is reporting that Lesnar and UFC have been working with THQ to make this happen, and that an official announcement should be made in the coming week.
