Borderlands 2 will be ginormous in every sense. Lead writer Anthony Burch talks craziness, non-sexualized female characters and more with Sam Clay at gamescom. All-new gameplay included. Borderlands 2 is as big as big games get: big on guns, big on content, big on everything. It’s big. Sam Clay got to talk to lead writer Anthony Burch in Germany last week on a whole range of topics ahead of the RPG-shooter’s release on September 18 in the US and September 21 in the UK. Watch above.

Resident Evil 6′s live gameplay demo from Capcom’s action-packed gamescom 2012 press conference has made its way online. Watch it in full, although sadly off-screen, through the break.
Capcom Unity posted this video. Don’t ask me difficult questions about why they don’t have direct feed access.
Resident Evil 6 launches in November on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, assuming you haven’t watched the entire game on YouTube by then.

Dead Space 3 shots have been posted below the break, courtesy of AGB. In them, you’ll see some scary-looking enemies which would make us scream our fool heads off. Too bad no one would be able to hear it in space. So they say anyway. Dead Space 3 is out February 5 in the US and February 8 in the UK on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Dead or Alive 5′s roster continues to expand with today’s announcement of two new fighters. Team Ninja has sent along a set of character renders, screenshots and a video showing off Helena Douglas, also known as “Fortune’s Heiress,” and Lisa Hamilton, also known as “La Mariposa”.
Dead or Alive 5 launches on PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 28.

The Testament of Sherlock Holmes As Sherlock Holmes in an open world environment, the player faces an open investigation, and decides which leads to follow, and which to ignore. Players can handle and inspect clues, re-enact crimes and use the game’s deduction system to make their own decisions about the innocence and guilt of suspects. Different questioning approaches can change the course of an interrogation by letting the player catch suspects off-guard, or gather valuable information. And as more events happen that call into question the nature of Holmes' changing character, you take on the role of Watson and are required to figure out if the famous detective is capable of such brutal actions or if something deeper is at play. The game uses a new graphics engine, especially developed to display complex scenes of the game's 19th century London environment, using hi-resolution textures.

The full gore will be shown in its full glory, unlike the previous game where corpse are seen as drawings and portraits to hone respect to the real victims. Players have the option of using a gamepad while playing, and the control system has been specially formatted for consoles. The way 1898 London's visuals are rendered a leap over the locations seen in Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper, and toggling between first- and third-person views on a console gamepad. There have been a few additions made to the title's puzzle-centric gameplay, most notably, optional "point of interest" indicators to help Holmes discover clues, as well as a "sixth sense" functional that can help Sherlock out when he's stumped. There are about 20 locations throughout the game, each with unique puzzles, that range from Baker Street, to London's slums, to a crimson-hued opium den, and roughly 12–15 hours of gameplay. A new game engine has been specially built for this new adventure to immerse players in a believable, realistic and fascinating universe. Extremely complex scenes will set the stage for the players' investigations. They can examine every inch to look for clues.The environments received a great amount of attention to details, and so did the characters. Using motion capture, real actors now give life to the new, highly detailed and finely textured models. This technique increases realism and credibility for each action and every cinematic scene that advances the story.

Leviathan, the latest DLC for Mass Effect 3, has a new trailer. It’s below, and shows the intrepid Commander Shepherd jumping into the ocean, hitting bottom, and seeing something he probably shouldn’t have – and we’re not talking about talking sponges sporting slacks. The Leviathan DLC will release on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 August 28.

GTA 5 was gifted with more screenshots today by Rockstar. The firm has graced the masses with 10 screenshots this week. Rockstar has promised more Grand Theft Auto 5 content will arrive in the next few weeks, but failed to say what we can expect. The game has not been given a release date yet.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown has received a new trailer from 2K Games and Firaxis, reminding players they their squad mates can be killed indefinitely, and that the sacrifice is necessary to save Earth.

The Walking Dead: Episode 3 – Long Road Ahead could get a release date any day now, according to developer Telltale Games. The new episode will also bring two new characters into the mix. Speaking with IGN, a telltale rep confirmed, “Episode Three: Long Road Ahead is in submission with our first party partners and we are anxiously awaiting a release date to be confirmed. We anticipate that this could be as soon as next week, and as soon as we have a confirmation on all platforms, we’ll be letting everyone know as soon as it happens.”
The new characters are called Christa and Omid, and you can see them in IGN’s full Walking Dead video interview with Telltale Game

Remember Me, is an upcoming Capcom game, in which players are able to manipulate a persons (target/target's) memories (memory remixing) to change the individual's perception of the outcome. (as demonstrated in the video above) The game centers around Nin (female in above video) who is an amnesiac "memory hunter" in Neo-Paris, in the year 2084. She set's out to find out why her former employer, Memoreyes erases her memory.
The game is being compared to Watch Dog's, due to it's technological visuals, when walking around the city (i.e. NPC information, etc...) However, that's where any similarities between the two end. As you can see in the video, Nin is highly agile and is very reminiscent of Faith from Mirror's Edge. The game is slated for a May 2013 release.

According to Kojima Productions, Metal Gear’s 25th anniversary is going to be a real shocker for the gaming community. Ken Mendoza, a Kojima Productions employee, was recently quoted in a podcast to have said that there will be “a lot of exciting announcements” surrounding the franchise’s 25th anniversary. For such a big number, it’s definitely appropriate – but what will these mystery announcements entail? Little to no detail has been revealed on the specifics thusfar, aside from the fact that the Fox Engine will be featured at the Japan event for the anniversary. A patch for Darksiders 2 on PC and console is in the works at Vigil Games. The patch on PC will address a number of bugs which can potentially block progression and will contain “additional features” per player request such as: vsync updates, improved shadow map resolution, X-axis options and additional keyboard mapping options.
For PS3 and Xbox 360, a patch will be rolled out to fix progression bugs users are experiencing alongside PC users.
Vigil said it’s “prioritized addressing these issues,” but the approval process for patches “can take a little while,” so to please remain patient.

Ratchet & Clank: Q-Force is coming to a retailer near you this fall, and to get you excited, Sony has released the gamescom trailer for Insomniac’s latest. The game is known as Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault in the US, and it contains Cross-Play between the PS3 and Vita versions, and is one of Sony’s Cross-Buy titles.

Tekken Tag Tournament drops in mid-September, so there’s not much time left to get a pre-order in. Here’s a run down on what you’ll be missing if you wait for launch day.
In short: two characters, a special Snoop Dogg stage, and a set of revealing alternate costumes. As the presenter notes, offers vary by retailer so shop around a little.
TTT2 hits PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 In Australia on September 10, in the US on September 11 and in Europe on September 14.

Max Payne has been patched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The automatically applied title update addresses a number of bugs and issues, but also adds a Multiplayer Player Card system and automated cheat protection and lag protection measures. It also sets up Payne Thresholds, a new XP-boosting system which will go live when Disorganised Crime, the shooter’s latest DLC pack, arrives on August 28.
