A screenshot for Street Figther X Tekken uploaded to the XBOX Live Market Place (we know!) has inadvertently revealed Tekken’s jailbait hottie Xiaoyu and Street Fighter’s trend-setting M. Bison for the crossover fighter.Joystiq reports that the new additions bring Street Fighter X Tekken’s character roster up to 30, and that’s discounting the game’s PlayStation 3 and PS Vita exclusive names.

We distinctly recall unlocking an upgrade for Paul Phoenix in Tekken 5 that attached a puppy to his hair-sprayed quiff. That was pretty weird, but totally awesome at the same time. Thankfully it looks like Tekken Tag Tournament 2′s not planning on forgetting the franchise’s bonkers routes. A new, low quality Japanese trailer shows Ganryu sporting a pair of fancy wings and Roger the kangaroo kitted out in fancy dress.It’s totally Tekken, alright.

Long-time Falloutfansite Duck and Cover reports that the pair has reached a settlement, the details of which should be released sometime this month.DAC describes the turn of events: ”..on the day of trial, the atmosphere in the court room was tense until the judge recessed. This recess was extended, and then they recessed for lunch. After the lunch recess, the court room was locked to everyone except attorneys and clients.

The following day, another source called the court reporter to ask what the next hearing schedule for the case was – this source was told there was no schedule as a settlement had been reached.”I’m being wildly speculative here but.. could Bethesda have paid off Interplay?

It would seem that, so far, EA’s big risk that is Star Wars: The Old Republicis paying off. Baird Equity Research analyst Colin Sebastian thinks so at least.The analyst recently told GamesIndustry.biz that an estimated 350,000 people have played the game concurrently at peak, proving that ”multiple million-user MMOs” can co-exist.“We view the early success of Star Wars as an indication of a healthy MMO market,” he said.“While there is likely some shifting of usage from Activision’s World of Warcraft, we see a viable market for multiple million-user MMOs in the US and Europe.”

Hearing of the success of an MMO that doesn’t begin with war and end in craft is certainly encouraging. But it’s still early days for this one; Sony Online Entertainment crowned DC Universe Onlineits fastest selling game ever last year, but it eventually went on to become free-to-play.It’s no secret that WoW has been struggling to retain subscribers in the past year however. Perhaps MMO fans have found their new king?

In our last update from the epic legal battle between Viacom and Harmonix, Viacom was suing Harmonix for about $131 million. That was based on miscalculated earn-out payments during the 2006 acquisition of Harmonix by Viacom.Now it appears the tables have turned — Again! A private arbitrator has told Viacom it must pay Harmonix’s former shareholders $383 million, presumably for the mismanagement of profits for which Harmonix shareholders were seeking reparations for in the first place.It’s not a complete loss for Viacom — Harmonix was trying to get as much as $700 million — but it’s still not happy about the decision. To appeal, Viacom has filed a suit with the Delaware Court of Chancery to try to avoid the arbitrator’s decision.

Too Humandeveloper Silicon Knights has suffered a serious blow in its lawsuit against Epic Games for failing to provide a working game engine for their Xbox 360 exclusive.Shacknews states that the court has thrown out certified accountant Terry Lloyd’s damage estimates, that served as Silicon Knight’s key testimony. The court branded Lloyd “not qualified” and that his testimonial was “unreliable and speculative”.Lloyd claimed that Epic’s failure to provide a working version Unreal Engine 3 and instead develop Gears of Warcost the company some serious damages  listed below.

It is Silicon Knights, not Epic, that has engaged in deceit, infringement of Epic’s intellectual property rights, breach of contract, and unfair business practices.”

Silicon Knight’s latest, X-men: Destiny, failed to please both critics and fans, and publisher Activision has since cancelled another project developed by the studio. It’s not looking too bright for the company right now

Last week, it appeared as though various game developers and publishers had pulled support for the proposed "Stop Online Piracy Act" - a piece of legislation that would empower content owners to effectively shut down internet sites over copyright infringement claims. The Entertainment Software Association, however, was still listed as a supporter, meaning that the long list of game companies belonging to the ESA supported it by proxy. That's pretty much every major game company you can think of, with the exception of Activision.

The ESA is still a SOPA supporter, and today the game industry's lobbying group issued a statement to Joystiq regarding its support of the controversial bill. It reads as follows:"As an industry of innovators and creators, we understand the importance of both technological innovation and content protection, and do not believe the two are mutually exclusive. Rogue websites – those singularly devoted to profiting from their blatant illegal piracy – restrict demand for legitimate video game products and services, thereby costing jobs. Our industry needs effective remedies to address this specific problem, and we support the House and Senate proposals to achieve this objective. We are mindful of concerns raised about a negative impact on innovation. We look forward to working with the House and Senate, and all interested parties, to find the right balance and define useful remedies to combat willful wrongdoers that do not impede lawful product and business model innovation.

Adding cooperative play to the Hitmanseries is something developer IO Interactive has discussed internally, Hitman: Absolutiongame director Tore Blystad has said, but it was never something the studio could quite figure out. “It never felt right,” he says.“Agent 47 is a loner and we have never found a way to give him a partner, because to be honest, he doesn’t need one,” Blystad told OXM in an interview.Sounds like he’s discussing campaign co-op then, not a dedicated co-op mode.

He continues: “Every NPC in the game has some part in the world and they all contribute with little stories of their own. The AI is far more advanced than ever before and all their behaviours are linked up with the music system so that we can dynamically create a score that fits the particular style of any player.”What we’ve seen of the game so far, and based on previous games, letting two assassins loose in the single-player campaign would do the game no favors indeed. But perhaps a Splinter Cell-like approach — where the co-op campaign follows a different storyline and has different playable characters — could be worth the effort?

Are game companies (with the exception of Activison) stupid? the government is trying to put it's NOSE where it doesn't BELONG!!!! There is NO BENEFIT to the game companies WHATSOEVER!!

In a recent interview with Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki, conducted by fansite ShenmueMaster! Suzuki, talks about acquiring the rights to Shenmue from Sega. He also revealed that the Shenmue saga spans 11 chapters and that Shenmue 2, was only the 6th chapter!

If something like this passes imagine how it would reduce internet traffic, nearly kill the internet. The information about anything would be reduced, no one posting information about anything because their afraid those holding the copyright would kill the website it was posted. Censored twitter, Youtube, Facebook Google. Supporters of SOPA are finding out how the internet users feel just ask GoDaddy.

Exactly! There wouldn't be an internet at all! A LOT of JOBS would be lost, thus futher destroying the current economy, which is already terrible!

HAHA! Hitman: Absolution God Of War 4 DeadSpace3 Darkness2 MassEffect3 & whatever others i missed adding co-op & or multiplayer how many more will follow.
Developers adding co-op & or multiplayer in strong single player titles only shows the inkwell of ideas has run dry. Has anyone else noticed more titles nowadays are appearing with more glitches & technical issues that require patching. Games filled with glitches & bugs, freezing up restarting your system eating more space each time you save your game progress. And they have the nerve to wonder why gamers trade their games in. I wonder why do those game testers have a job.
Why include a quantity of features that reduce quality of the games.
How long before fighting jump on this bandwagon again by adding a single player adventure campaign to the mix.

According to the latest report regarding the inevitable successors to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, not one but bothare set to be revealed at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. This news comes from industry sources speaking with MCV. No details were shared regarding the specifics of what Sony or Microsoft will show, nor we do know the extent of what either has planned. While Nintendo will be further detailing the Wii U ahead of its release later this year, we don't know that either the third Xbox or PlayStation 4 will be coming out this year. As such, that means that both companies would still have ample time to continue unveiling aspects of their respective systems if they decide to only share a few tidbits at E3.

Reaffirming the report on Twitter, MCV's Ben Parfitt stated, "Obviously we can't reveal our sources. But you have my personal word on this - the source is exemplary, 100% concrete, ultra high level." Further elaborating on that, MCV's Michael French told IGN, "This is very credible. Even if we don't see the hardware itself, or know a price or date, key publishers and developers are expecting some nod towards what direction PS4 will take at E3 this year. Sony isn't stupid - it knows that if Microsoft is planning to also say something about its next console, it can't be left behind." This isn't the first time we've heard of such announcements coming at this year's E3, particularly when it comes to the successor to the Xbox 360.

The Red Ring of Death fiasco aside, which was certainly a black eye for the company, Microsoft has enjoyed a great deal of success with the 360 due to the early lead it established -- it was out in the United States in November 2005, a full year before the PlayStation 3 and Wii were released. You can bet the company would like to get out ahead of Sony once again and that Sony would prefer that didn't happen. It was reported last year that a source within Crysis developer Crytek had indicated an E3 2012 reveal of the Xbox 720 (or whatever the actual name ends up being, as "720" seems highly unlikely) was in the works. Separately, we've heard that EA and others had early versions of the new Xbox hardware, but this was denied.

Yet another rumor suggested the system would both be unveiled and released in 2013. Other sources suggest the next Xbox and PlayStation aren't likely to be out until 2014, or 2013 at the earliest, though that would not preclude their announcements from coming at E3. The odds of a 2012 launch for the Xbox's successor, which has been mentioned somewhat often, are not great. Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter is among those who don't buy into the 2012 launch talk, having deemed the rumors "silly." Indeed, it doesn't make a great deal of sense for Microsoft to undercut itself as, at least in the U.S., it has been consistently outselling the competition. During Black Friday week, the system enjoyed its biggest sales week ever with almost a million units sold in the U.S. alone.
