Subject: Black Ops 2 logo, trailer date out — rumor Mon Apr 09, 2012 7:45 pm
Yet another suggestion of this year’s Call of Duty being a follow-up to Black Ops has arrived.
The image below, apparently briefly posted on Call of Duty‘s own website (via), pictures a rather believable-looking logo for the shooter along with a date believed to mark the release of its debut trailer: April 28. That’s just a few days before the original Black Ops‘ first trailer arrived back in 2010, so it certainly wouldn’t be outrageous. Still, rumor at best for now.

Whatever you need to make up your mind on whether or not to pick up Max Payne 3 next month will have to gathered through screenshots, gameplay videos and/or events like PAX East, as it doesn’t look like the chance to give the game a go in the comforts of your own home will be happening.
“There are no plans for a demo of Max Payne 3,” Rockstar has tweeted in response to some fans, breaking hearts along the way.
The game’s out on the 15th in North America and 18th internationally on consoles, and on PC on the 29th in NA June 1st internationally.

Subject: Say Hello to the Mechromancer from Borderlands 2 and her Companion Mon Apr 09, 2012 8:08 pm
Yesterday we dropped the details on the new character coming to Borderlands 2 as well as some more information about the game. I’m sure you’ve been dying to find out what the new character looks like and to that end today is your lucky day, as we’ve been given the concept art for the Mechromancer character as well as a look at what one of her abilities might look like in the form of a robotic companion named D347-TP or “Deathtrap”. Check out a better look at the Mechromancer and the first look at Deathtrap after the break! Take note that these are just concept art at this time so nothing is final.

Subject: Grit Your Teeth Through Free RE: Operation Raccoon City DLC Mon Apr 09, 2012 8:49 pm
As our Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City review established last month, Slant Six’s squad-based spin-off isn’t exactly the most polished entry in Capcom’s traditionally high-quality horror series. But if you’re enjoying the title regardless, you might be, ahem, thrilled to learn that there’s some free DLC on the way.

Starting next week you’ll be able to download the first of a seven-mission campaign featuring the US Spec Ops squad for free. While it sounds like a legitimately great deal, the fact that you have to buy the other six missions seems a bit sly. Could someone wake us up when Capcom gets a grip on this whole DLC thing, please? We’ve included a trailer for the new content below. As you’d expect, it includes lots of shuffling zombies and questionable voice acting.

Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection will be out on the PlayStation 3 in June. Published today were some new screenshots of your favorite zombies and zombie killers with a nice make-over. The Umbrella Chronicles will have eight characters, including Jill Valentine, while The Darkside Chronicles will play into the story of Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield. The HD polishing really brings out the color of blood splatter and an extra shine to slimy tentacles.

Subject: Lost Planet 3 Revealed, Due for 2013 Release Tue Apr 10, 2012 8:23 pm
The embargo on information from Capcom's recent Captivate 2012 hasn't even ended yet and we already know there'll be a Lost Planet 3 coming to PS3 in 2013. The game is being developed by Spark Unlimited, the team responsible for Turning Point: Fall of Liberty and Legendary. It might not have the best pedigree, but Blue Castle Games did a decent job with Dead Rising 2 after a history of only baseball games.

Remember the Lock-On function of Sonic & Knuckles on the Mega Drive? It's making a resurgence in Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2, as the trailer below shows. Anyone who owns Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I and the follow-up will be able to access four exclusive Metal Sonic levels that span the gap between Sonic CD and Sonic 4, explaining how and why everyone's favourite robotic hedgehog came back.
The PS3 download reaches North America on 15th May; a European release the next day looks likely.

Subject: New DmC Devil May Cry Trailer Brings the Pain Tue Apr 10, 2012 8:55 pm
Details of the most recent Capcom 'Captivate' event are doing the rounds, including a brand new trailer for DmC: Devil May Cry. At the event itself members of the development team unveiled a new level that takes place at a carnival: it involves Dante facing off against a demon, which isn't surprising. The trailer is below and features a lot of demon slashing and heavy rock music, the snappily titled "Never Surrender" by CombiChrist, apparently.

This might not be the greatest video in the world (it’s completely missing music for starters) but it at least provides a good indication of the type of combat variety you can expect when Grasshopper’s zany zombie brawler Lollipop Chainsaw launches on PS3 later this year. Swiftly smash the “Play” button below and you’ll be rewarded with all manner of sugar-coated madness — including a talking key-fob and a stoned hippy armed with a sitar. No, really.

Capcom revealed the next exciting entry in their popular Lost Planet franchise at Captivate last week. Today the public gets their grubby little hands on the first trailer and screenshots of Lost Planet 3, and they are gorgeous. The game will star a pilot named Jim, who has been contracted by Neo-Venus to ready the hostile planet of E.D.N III for colonization.

The game will run on the Unreal Engine 3 and feature a mix of first and third person game-play, and online multiplayer supporting up to ten players. Classy! The game’s official Japanese website has also gone live, and it promises an early 2013 release date for the multiplatform title. The Lost Planet series has always stood pretty unique from other games in the genre in my opinion,

You’ll be able to show your appreciation of Agent 47’s suave sense of style later this year, when Square Enix releases the Professional Edition for Hitman: Absolution. The dapper European retail release will not only earn you access to a bevy of new in-game weapons via the bundled Agency Gun Pack, but will also spruce up your copy of the game with fancy clamshell packaging. Furthermore, you'll score an art book and behind-the-scenes DVD, making the Premium Edition prime clobber for wannabe assassins.

Video game collector’s editions have gradually got more elaborate (and expensive) over the past five years — but Resident Evil 6’s Japan-only Premium Edition sets a whole new precedent. The limited edition pack will set you back a staggering ¥105,000, which translates to about $1300. In exchange for your hard-earned cash, you’ll receive a full-size, wearable replica of Leon’s leather jacket from the main game. You’ll also receive a copy of Resident Evil 6 on PS3 and four phone covers based on the series’ famous herb items. The set will be available in limited supplies through Capcom’s own Japanese store.

It seems Sony has finally realised that Qore without Veronica Belmont is like peanut butter without jelly. The platform holder has announced on the US PlayStation Blog that the digital video magazine – which recently got a new host – is no more. It’s latest (and final) issue covering the month of April will feature a celebration of the show’s past four years, in addition to bundling eleven of the magazine’s interactive mini games.

WHAT???? Capcom has lost all reasoning, $1300? No one in their right mind would buy this. It's WAY OVERPRICED!! 1300, is a car note. All I want is the game (which I'll base buying, on the demo of the game) Capcom can keep it's overpriced accessories.
Subject: Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Finally Hitting Home Consoles this September Thu Apr 12, 2012 12:27 pm
Namco has finally answered the prayers of North American fighting fans. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be gracing HD consoles this September. It’s coming equipped with over 50 characters (including additional characters not in the arcade version, making for the largest roster in series history), a “revolutionary” online component and a bevy of game modes and features. Namco has expressed that this version of the game will be far more than just a port of the arcade version and that it’ll pack tons of new features such as simultaneous four player pair play.

Subject: Just Add Water Teases Oddworld: Hand of Odd Thu Apr 12, 2012 9:27 pm
We can’t be certain, but we don’t think Just Add Water’s latest project Oddworld: Hand of Odd has anything to do with Diego Maradona’s famous goal against England in the 1986 World Cup quarter-finals. Instead, it sounds like a brand new entry in the recently rejuvenated Oddworld series. There’s not much to go on right now, but a teaser website includes a first look at the game’s logo.

Hand of Odd is widely believed to be a real-time strategy title based on a cancelled concept from the late 90s. Just Add Water’s been working on rebuilding the Oddworld franchise over the past couple of years, with an HD re-release of Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath kick-starting the assault on the PlayStation Network late last year. The studio is currently known to be working on a Vita version of Stranger’s Wrath in addition to an HD upgrade of Munch’s Oddysee.

While the core gameplay remains unchanged with 4 difficulty levels, the PS Vita version will also take advantage of the touch screen and rear touch pad with a new feature called "Scratch" which uses the ☆ symbols primarily during preludes and interludes. Also newly added are "Technical Zones" which give bonus points if the zone is cleared by getting a full combo.
The PS Vita version of the game will be released in Summer of 2012 and the PS3 version of the game will be released in 2013.
